Sound description: Acoustic indie/folk
City: Denton, TX
After years and years of writing songs and what his family would call “picking and grinning," Dillon Chevalier finally came across the sound he was looking for when he wrote “The Gentle Breeze.” The result: The County Line. Since then, the song has inspired many other tunes that can be heard across the Dallas/Fort Worth/Denton area.
Dillon Chevalier grew up and learned how to play the guitar in Gilmer, Texas. He experimented with many rock and roll bands but was always continually writing acoustic music. After moving to Denton for college, he put his rock and rolling aside and concentrated on his new song-inspired acoustic project. With influences by bands such as Iron & Wine, Wilco, The Lonely Hearts and Bob Dylan, The County Line has been able to create a list of mellow indie/folk songs that are simple, but catchy with powerful and personal lyrics that come from the heart. Many of these songs can be heard on The County Line’s debut EP released in early 2006.
