The Demigs are a highly stylized band that is able to attract listeners with their addictive pop hooks, quirky lyrics, and fuzzed up guitars; all conveyed with a danceable, post-punk spirit. The band was started by guitarist/vocalist Chris Demiglio after the disbanding of two North Texas acts, Wellwisher and Robin Goodfellow. Having been in bands with such opposing styles (Wellwisher being an American effort at Brit Pop and Robin Goodfellow dabbling in post-punk noise and structure) it seemed natural to combine the two elements.
The initial lineup included Chris Demiglio on vocals and guitar, Annie Ramage on guitar, Brad Row on bass, and Demiglio's brother Mark on drums. Together the band struck out on the DFW music scene developing a modest, but loyal fan base. With graduate school looming in the distance, Eric Lee soon replaced Ramage on guitar. The result was a pop-savvy vehicle that was able to use sonically distorted guitars, quirky lyrics, and catchy melodies to create a familiar, but distinctly original, way of making music.
