Fuzzy was born in Taylor, Texas, on December 9, 1951, but moved to Mexia, Texas, three months later. A second-generation musician, his father Fuzzy Sr. made sure there was no lack of music around the house. Fuzzy's first musical influences were his father and all the guys he played with. Growing up in Mexia, a hotbed for nightclubs, he was exposed to many different styles. But it was the blues that moved him.

Fuzzy's father owned several clubs, including the 84 Club, an all black club on the "Chittlin Circuit" that seated around 400 people. Fuzzy was there most days during his preschool years and afternoons after he started school, allowing him to hear some great blues from some of the best of that time period (1956-1964), which influenced him from that point on.

Fuzzy started off playing drums at age 5. He would play during band breaks with his father and people would throw change on the bandstand. Then and there he knew this was the life for him! When he was 10 he started playing after school and weekends with Carrie Jones, a local blues piano player, at a juke joint named the Hilltop. At the age of 16, Fuzzy started playing with a rock band in Corsicana, Texas. About that time he started getting interested in guitar, and also met his wife Mary, marrying her a couple of years later. To make a living, he started playing with country bands, playing steel guitar and working the road with name acts.

After two decades of playing with top country acts, Fuzzy decided to return to his roots, the music he loved most - the blues. Fuzzy started playing at Dallas blues jams and met Tyrone Starks. Along with lifelong friend Jerry Hancock and Tyrone, he put together Texas Weather, a rock edged blues band. Many great bluesmen sat in on Texas Weather shows, including Sam Myers, Hashbrown and Mike Morgan, which was a great learning experience. After Texas Weather, Fuzzy formed the Fuzzy Whitener Band and released his first CD, Hard Luck and Trouble. A second CD, Off The Chain, was released in August 2002.

Beer Tasting at Kindred Spirits "He must have been an admiral, a sultan, or a king, and to his praises we shall always sing. Look what he has done for us, he's filled us up with cheer! Lord bless Charlie Mops, the man who invented beer, beer, beer, tiddly beer, beer, beer..." I have my beer drinking song ready. Do you? More info
