Genre: Rap / Hip-Hop
Sound description: Hip hop intended to broaden your horizons
RIYL: De La Soul
City: Dallas, TX
Web site: http://www.kinfokkru.com
Kin-Fok Kru, a tightly knit family unit of lyricists and musical producers from Texas, artistically strive to blend the raw essences of jazz, funk and soul with their own blend of southern hip-hop culture. The content of their lyrics will no doubt challenge the listener as they have the potential to ultimately alter the way in which rap music is perceived today.
Choosing to speak on, as well as openly explore, subjects and topics that touch mind, body and spirit is the standard. Delivering verbal descriptions of everyday life that relate to the way in which we all live is what they do best.
Kin-Fok Kru explores topics ranging from states of mental consciousness to social commentary on the status of affairs in the community, all while expressing the essence of the “old-school” party vibe.

Yes! Long-standing pillars of DFW underground rap! I used to watch them put it down at Tropical Exodus in 1993, when hip-hop was truly UNDERGROUND, like illegal
