Nuwamba (born Demetress “Dede” Cook) means “November” in the Nigerian language Hausa. The singer/songwriter/producer exhibited an affinity with a wide range of music from an early age. Aspects of gospel, blues, jazz and soul vocalizing are evident and interspersed, which reflect his reverence for singing greats such as Smokey Robinson, Bobby “Blue” Band, Frankie Beverly and Marvin Gaye. Much like his influences, Nuwamba has synthesized elements from the past and spun them into progressive soul, with cross-cultural appeal.
The Fort Worth Weekly named Nuwamba the best hip-hop and R&B artist of the year in 2003. His tracks can be heard in heavy rotation on XM Radio and on stations across America, England and Japan.
"I want to be the male Erykah Badu for Fort Worth," he told The Fort Worth Weekly.

Saturday Tastings in the Wine and Beer Department Little Joey just LOVES the Saturday wine tastings at Central Market - he particularly likes the blind tastings, when he can sneak a snort while Mommie's not looking. (Great nose!) More info
