West Fest Polka Festival Westfest kicks off the the weekend on Friday evening with the Miss Westfest Contest. Gates to the fairground (in West, Texas, south on I-35 just beyond Hillsboro) open at 5:30 p.m., and you can hang out touring the food booths until closing time at 12:30 a.m. If there was ever a place to do your "wurst," this is it, folks! And don't forget kolaches for dessert. More info
