Genre: Alt-Country / Americana

Sound description: Texas-rooted country rock mixed with soulful blues and southern rock, plus a handful of folk ballads

Formed: 2005

City: Fort Worth, TX

Web site: http://www.toddmankin.com

Todd Mankin & El Guapo was formed in memory of Todd Mankin's younger brother Jeff "Jefe" Mankin, who was killed in a boating accident in June of 2005. However, the members are anything but new to the Texas music scene, with all of them having played for several years with the likes of Mike Mancy, Michael Klein, Matt Deaton, Michael Padgett and several others.

Armed with a mix of attention grabbing originals and well picked covers, the band will instantly draw you into "El Guapoland." All of their original songs were written by Todd Mankin. Those who know Todd are well aware of his soulful songwriting ability, his unusual vocal range, and unique ability to grab the attention of those around him when performing solo. However, his energy and animation definitely escalate once he is plugged in with El Guapo.
