Italian pianist Benedetto Lupo gained worldwide recognition after winning the bronze medal in the 1989 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Consistently praised for the aristocratic elegance of his playing, he is regularly invited to perform at major concert venues throughout Europe, the United States, and South America. Tchaikovsky's rarely programmed Grand Sonata in G major will be the featured work on this Cliburn at the Kimbell program.
