So I have to say, that was about the least impressive fireworks displays I have ever seen. I know the city didn't officially sponsor this event, but it seems like there should be some sort of quality control when it comes to high-profile events like this. I would have been embarrassed had I taken anyone from out of town to this thing. I found myself looking in the distance to what must have been Irving or Las Colinas' displays, as they were much more interesting.
With the number of high-quality competing events going on around the Metroplex (Addison, McKinney, etc), I think the city of Dallas proper is missing a huge opportunity to market itself to the suburbanites out there if they actually want people moving back into the city.
Oh well, not sure why I would have expected anything else.
