The first stop of the Producers and Engineers Texas Tour 2008, a series of educational and entertaining programs presented by The Recording Academy® Texas Chapter (also in Austin and Houston in later in July, each with individual programming). GRAMMY®-winning engineer Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers' Stadium Arcadium) and Sugar Hill Recording Studios president Dusty Wakeman trade trends and issues in a moderated discussion at 12:30pm, and then Wakeman leads an equipment shoot-out/demo with manufacturers' reps until 3pm. A free music industry mixer follows immediately from 3 to 4pm. Admission to the program is $25 per tour stop/$60 for all three for Academy members. Non-members may attend for $100, which includes Academy membership and admission to future events. R.S.V.P. by July 10.
