Description

This seasonal Butterfly House contains hundreds of colorful native Texas butterflies like Giant Swallowtails, Pipevine Swallowtails, Monarchs, Sulphurs, Question Marks, and more.

As you walk through the 30’ by 48’ free standing flight cage, closely observe butterflies as they feed on nectar from the blossoms of both native and tropical plants. Learn which species enjoys rotting fruit! Find out when butterflies roost (go to sleep). Be captivated by fast and furious flyers! An emergence box filled with uniquely camouflaged and vibrantly colored chrysalis will reveal the last mysterious step in the life stages of the butterfly.

Afterwards, visit the Butterfly Display Garden and learn how you can attract these fascinating creatures to your yard by using the right plants.

Monarch tagging presentations each day at 2 pm.

Information from the venue.
