Dallas restaurant Amuse updates menu

Amuse, the American-bistro restaurant from chef-owners Doug Brown and Jason Foss, located near Gilley's Dallas, the Palladium, and the Southside on Lamar loft building, has updated its menu.

"We've kept the classics like our cider-marinated pork chop and peanut-butter-and-jelly truffle lollipops," says Brown, "and added some great new options."

Those include a mac-and-cheese made with Gruyere and manchego cheeses; spicy orange-glazed pork ribs with cole slaw; "fish and chips" with cornmeal-crusted tilapia, homemade French fries, and a Cajun remoulade (it's rightfully put in quotes since that is not, repeat, NOT, real fish and chips!); a blue-cheese-bacon risotto cake; mashed potatoes with chorizo; and mini gourmet cupcakes a la Sprinkles.

The restaurant has also somewhat streamlined its hours since opening in early 2006. It's now closed Sunday through Tuesday, then open for lunch Wednesday through Friday, and dinner from Wednesday through Saturday.
