Southlake Carroll cross countyr runner Colby Lowe could be relaxing this weekend. Earlier this month, he won another individual state title, a performance that helped his team secure another second-place team finish.
Alas, there is no rest for the runner, even during Thanksgiving feasts and festivities. This Saturday, Lowe runs against national competitors in Charlotte, N.C. Lowe is running in the South Regional, where he'll try to win a chance to compete in the 2007 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships on December 8. We'll see how his time from the state meet (where he beat the runner-up by a little over 25 seconds) holds up.
RiseMag.com picks Lowe as the favorite in this preview, but perhaps more interesting is the reference to a young Kentucky runner Emily Buck. It's a feel good story, but, come on, it's funny too.
