Dude, where's my game?

With a small staff, we get our high school football information from a wide variety of sources -- content partners, blogs, fans and a little bit of staff-written coverage. You'll find all the scores linked off of our Sports hub and neighborhood pages.

You can post your own synopsis / opinions of any game in the comments on that game's page. You can also submit write-ups, photo and video here. We'll be trying to cover as many of the big games as we can -- and with your help, we eventually aim to have deeper content on all the games.

In the meantime, registered users can "favorite" the schools and teams they follow and have those automatically delivered to their sports hub.

Dallas South Sports could not agree on one game of the week for this weekend so we went with two. Game One features Tyler’s John Tyler Lions traveling to North Texas to face the DeSoto Eagles.

John Tyler (1-1) enters the game having beaten Dallas Carter in a 21-14 overtime home contest. RB Romonté Hampton led the Lions with 98 yards and scored all three of the team’s touchdowns.

DeSoto (1-0) is coming off of an impressive 47-14 rout of Garland last week. In that game Cyrus Gray rushed for 143 yards and Adrian Bushell scored three touchdowns, including one on a punt return. DeSoto is ranked #5 among area 5A teams by the Dallas Morning News.

Dallas South Sports’ second game of the week has the Plano Senior High Wildcats travelling south to face the Carter Cowboys. This should give the good citizens of Plano a chance to see be wonderful facility DISD has constructed in John Kincaide Stadium.

Carter (1-1) lost an overtime game on the road vs. John Tyler last week. QB Jarvis Phillips has stood out in Carter’s first two contests.

Plano (2-0) looks to avenge a 14-3 home loss to Carter last season. They are ranked #7 among area 5A schools by the Dallas Morning News.
