SACHSE The opening day parade for Sachse's 2008 baseball and softball season will be Saturday, April 5th starting at 9:30 a.m.
Teams wishing to participate must gather at the Sachse High School parking lot before 9:00 a.m. in their uniforms. The city Web site reminds parade participants to "Remember to bring bags of candy to throw along the parade route." That's a quaint custom, the throwing of candy. It seems like an opportunity to stock the larder for Halloween, so that one may throw the candy back at the teams as they go seeking candy from door to door. It's like recycling.
The parade will end at Heritage Park where the opening ceremonies will be held and games will begin at 12:00 noon. Pix from prior parades appear here.
