Carrollton hosts worldwide basketball event

— The Adidas Nations Experience, a four day basketball event pitting eight rosters of regional teams from around the world and comprised of some of the top 18 and under prospects to be found, will take place in Carrollton this week. There will be a team of players from Africa, Asia Pacific, Canada, China, Europe, Latin America and the United States.

Three local DFW players and a select group of the top 30 high school and college players from various nations in the world will compete. Several NBA players will be coaching during the competition, and will be available to share their best plays and moves with the young athletes.

This worldwide basketball event will be held at Integrated Athletic Development (IAD), located at 2800 North I-35E. The competition begins Friday, Aug. 8 at 7:00 p.m. and continues through Monday, Aug. 11 at 3:00 p.m., when one team will emerge the victor. Competition play is open and available to the general public. Seating is limited.
