When the Coppell City Council convenes their regular meeting on Tues. evening, Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, they'll start out in executive session to cover a range of zoning and real estate acquisition issues.

In the work session which follows they'll take up matters relating to Rail North Texas (this link opens a .pdf report on the state of the initiative hosted on the North Central Texas Council of Governments website), along with updates on roadway, senior center and cemetery construction projects (those last two being more or less co-dependent).

Finally, during the council's regular session, items up for consideration will include:

* interlocal agreement with the Dallas County Community College district in regard to law enforcement services

* a range of zoning change request consent items

* certification of the anticipated debt collection rate for the period July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009

* whether to keep the tax rate at .64146 for the 2008 tax year

* approval of a resolution to acquire 832 acres of land in support of water system and other improvements, through the issuance of certificates of obligation in an amount not to exceed $20,000,000.

The session will wrap up with reports from the City Manager and Mayor Stover.
