Irving’s Frank Parra Dodge taking Hispanic heat after arrest of man who used fake ID to buy a truck

Email Print Tell us your story Comments (5)

Repeat Frank Parra Dodge customer Oscar Urbina was arrested at the dealership after reportedly locking himself inside a vehicle when the sales staff discovered he was using a fake social security number to by a truck.

According to the dealership, they just wanted to get Urbina out of their truck and off the lot. For his part, Urbina admitted to being in the U.S. illegally, though he says he has previously purchased vehicles from Parra using the same fake I.D. technique.

But Hispanic community activists see it differently, claiming Urbina was the victim of a scam whereby the dealership offered to go ahead with the transaction if the customer paid more money down and agreed to finance at higher interest.

Which the dealership denies.

I wonder if they offered Urbina the usual add-ons before the deal went south?

Social Security Numbers are racist.

Apparently, arresting a person for criminal activity is racist.
Entering the country illegally, using a fake ss#, fake ID, and being bold enough to enter a showroom and try to buy a vehicle is no reason to pick on this poor guy. He was caught up in a scam- it's so sad!
Sounds to me like he has all the gumption it takes to be a successful American.

We should be offering this guy a new home loan, giving him free medical care- including eye care and a comprehensive dental plan, paying for his family to school here, naming a major street after him, and offering him a seat on the Dallas City Council. This isn't a criminal, he's an entrepreneur.

Cops should just ignore any minorities they spot doing anything illegal- they'll just start trouble if they arrest them. We should be concentrating our efforts and tax dollars on getting those pesky white criminals off our streets.
After all this is America.

Rick, we need to find more stuff we disagree on. It's much more fun to argue with you.

Well, to be entirely objective, I'm wondering if there's any merit to Urbina's claim that a dealership employee offered him a 'different' lender at a premium?

If he's purchased cars there before with fake SSN's, can't say I'd be shocked he had inside help. Sales guy finds a finance company underwriter who 'omits' the shady ID for a higher rate (and cash under the table to the salesman), Urbina balks at the out of pocket expense due to repeat bidness, dude didn't oblige, situation erupts, etc. (this is all hypothetical, of course)

Not the smartest move on Urbina's part to make a scene considering he's probably on his way back to the motherland right now, but I'm not expecting rational behavior out of illegals flashing fake ID's.

My bet is the credit check nailed him this time. Those things have been ludicrous lax the past few years.
