DALLAS Marcos Ronquillo, Managing Partner of the Texas-based law firm Godwin Pappas & Ronquillo PC, was honored as the Corporate Individual Inclusiveness Champion of the Year during the Ernst & Young Celebration of Diversity Awards Banquet held on June 26 in Dallas. Mr. Ronquillo was recognized for his untiring efforts to foster and promote diversity, not only in the legal profession, but also in the community.
“I’m humbled to receive this honor, but I am also extremely proud to be able to accept the award on behalf of everyone at Godwin Pappas & Ronquillo,” said Mr. Ronquillo, who serves as the firm’s President and Managing Partner. “I may be the one to have been honored, but I truly believe this award actually represents our entire firm’s commitment to creating an inclusive, diverse work environment that values and respects the contributions of each individual.”
The Celebration of Diversity awards recognize the efforts of individuals, nonprofit groups and corporations in promoting diversity. Honorees are selected based on their work in helping to improve the quality of life for the diverse Dallas population, and their commitment to creating and promoting an environment of diversity and inclusiveness.
“The leadership that Marcos brings to our firm cannot be overstated,” says Donald E. Godwin, firm Chairman and CEO. “He is someone who leads by example and has shown us that the world is a better place for those who work to eliminate the arbitrary barriers of race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or age that can keep us apart.”
Earlier this year, Mr. Ronquillo was honored as a recipient of the 2008 Legal Diversity Award presented by the Texas Diversity Council. Mr. Ronquillo, who recently was appointed chairman of the City of Dallas’ 16-member Judicial Nominating Commission, is a former President of the Dallas Mexican American Bar Association and Chairman of the Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Godwin Pappas & Ronquillo PC is a mid-size Texas trial and appellate firm with offices in Dallas and Houston that represents Fortune 500 and middle-market industry leaders in Mission Critical Litigation® throughout the United States.
