Revisualizing Westward Expansion: A Century of Conflict, 1800–1900

An exhibit of maps of the American West titled, “Revisualizing Westward Expansion: A Century of Conflict, 1800–1900” is currently on display at the Amon Carter Museum.
Where in the West are we? Chart your course through this group of 17 rare 19th century maps that reveal how cartography helped pioneers find a way across the country.
The maps in the exhibit come from UT Arlington’s Special Collections. The program runs June 28 to Oct. 12. Visit this Web site for more information.
The American Union Railroad Map of the United States, British Possessions, West Indies, Mexico, and Central America. 1871 - well before Hawaii and Alaska became states.
