Last weekend, Rover Dramawerks opened Gilligan's Island: The Musical and brought a classic TV show back to life. Uptown Players gets their chance this week with the opening of The Facts of Life: The Lost Episode in a special limited run production. From June 13 - 29, Uptown Players will be performing their latest show at The Rose Room Theatre at the S4 nightclub.
Written by Jamie Morris, The Facts of Life: The Lost Episode is a parody of the popular 1980s television series with an all-male cast as the girls from Eastland College. In this fictional episode, Eastland is short on funds and looking to axe Mrs. Garrett . Natalie, Tootie, Jo and Blair will do anything to raise enough money to keep her on staff. Anything. As the sitcom's popular theme song proclaimed, "You take the good, you take the bad..." these girls take it all. Woven in are some amusingly funny songs inspired from of our favorite musicals. It does not incorporate actual episodes. This is a new parody inspired by the sitcom.
