"Love is Where We Go..." is the motto this art couple utilizes to motivate their creative and synergistic lives. During the sensuous budding of spring they felt it appropriate to share this concept with the connoisseurs in the art and fashion community of Dallas.
One night, one evening, experience one-of-kind art fashion inspired by the beauty of life and bonding with that beauty. All Elisa Jimenez polymorphic (many changes) ready-mades available to try on, reveal, and become; all Moe Nadel Meander Ware accessible to carry everything desired to the next journey; all inspirations presented in an inviting installation of the heart, Decorazongallery. Clothing, bags, drawings, and a few marionettes sprinkle the field of purchase for those who come. This one night event will take place during the Bishop Art District's First Thursday on April 3 at Decorazon Gallery.
New York photographer and artist Moe Nadel is a poetic maverick, using materials recycled from a plethora of alternative sources and leather in his one-of-a kind bags: Meander Ware. Meander Ware bags embody the concept "we carry what we love". Hand stitched into every inspiration, Nadel unites form and function into unique objects of contemporary design. Television and movie costume designer, Caroline Marx, purchased his entire spring collection for her upcoming movie, based on their pure style and originality.
This up and coming creator has been most recently exhibited in "Explorations" at New Century Artists in New York, LewAllen Contemporary in Santa Fe, Red Ink Gallery of San Francisco, as well as The Dallas Contemporary this December. His publications include Cooleh Mag and Bulfinch Press. Moe Nadel attended Antioch College and resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Elisa Jimenez acquired her MFA and BFA with supplemental degrees in Native American Mythologies and Classics. She has received the National Endowment's Most Promising Artist, as well as the Mamie E. Smith Endowment. New York gallery legend Holly Solomon began to represent her artwork and couture in 1996. First discovered by Vogue's Scoop in 1996, she has been generously represented by Gen Art's Fresh Faces of Fashion, was one of Moet Chandon's Debut designers at Bryant Park, chosen as Vogue's Top 10 Independent American designers, as well as included in the Barbican's "Art and Fashion since the '70's in London". Jimenez' work has been printed in the pages and on the covers of such publications as I D Mag, Dutch Elle, Vogue, Black Book, Paper Magazine, Harper's Bazaar, People, Newsweek, Nylon, Playboy, and The New York Times.
Elisa Jimenez proclaims that her clients are those women who have worked very hard to become themselves. Some of the more well known of these women are Marisa Tomeii, Cindy Sherman, Cameron Diaz, Sarah Jessica Parker, Courtney Love, Pink, Melissa Auf Der Mar, Sylvia Tosun, and Tara Sutter who received the Amnesty International Award for her journalistic work in Iraq.
Her most recent shows include New York Fashion Week Fall 2008, LewAllen Contemporary of Santa Fe, The Dallas Contemporary, and LA Fashion Week Spring 2008. She was selected out of thousands for the popular and surreal reality show "Project Runway-Season 4". Ironically, Jimenez was released on the "fantasy" challenge, revealing that winning does not always look like winning. She is currently collaborating with television and movie costume designer, Caroline Marx, on the "Kelsi" character of "High School Musical -The Movie", in addition to a series of drawings, paper-puppets for film and photography collaboration, and an exclusive ready-made line for Santa Fe boutique, Block Mercantile.
