Farmers Branch teams up with Dignity Memorial Network to present “Escape School”

— The city of Farmers Branch is teaming up with the Dignity Memorial Network to present the nationally acclaimed “Escape School” program on Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. at theFarmers Branch Community Recreation Center.

Presented free of charge, the program teaches critical abduction prevention and life-saving tactics on how to survive in dangerous situations. Featured on “The Today Show,” “Oprah,” “Americas Most Wanted” and “Good Morning America,” Escape School helps to dispel fear by teaching proactive strategies in a fun, non-threatening manner. Parents are encouraged to attend this beneficial program with their children to reinforce the knowledge that leads to smart choices.

The program discusses topics including: how to be smart, not scared; how all the rules change in an abduction attempt; the difference between good and bad strangers; the common lures abductors use and why they are successful; how to get away, right away; how to escape from a car; and how to find help when you need it.
