Lancaster ISD to employees: Take pay cut or get laid off

Email Print Tell us your story Comment

Faced with a possible shortfall of $2 million, the Lancaster ISD told their employees this week that if they don't accept pay cuts, they'll risk being laid off. Since all employees were given raises this year and have received only one paycheck reflecting that raise, the choice was reportedly pretty simple for most employees.

The shortfall is said to have been the result of overestimation of the number of students that would attend Lancaster ISD this year, as school districts receive state funding based on enrollment.
