Coppell touts forthcoming Oaktoberfest event with extreme vigor

To hear the Coppell special events crew talk about it, the city's forthcoming Oaktoberfest event is going to be the hottest thing to happen in that fair city since... lemme think... LAST year's Oaktoberfest event.

Here's some of the lyrical description taken directly from the Coppell press release (brace yourself):

Imagine floating softly towards the sky in a hot air balloon, your kids gazing at the park below with sheer delight in their eyes. Envision the bright glow of a laser light show beaming across the crisp night air as you listen to the energetic music of Emerald City Band. Coppell Oaktober Fest will be the destination of choice on October 18th from 5 – 10pm in Andy Brown Park, East. It will be the most talked-about event of the Fall season!

O.K., that'll do.

Also on tap will be a climbing wall (for - um - climbing), roasted corn-on-the-cob, funnel cakes, kettle corn and a range of other edibles (and drinkables). Notably present will be representatives of Grow It Land Designs, who will have decorated a portion of the park with the sorts of landscaping materials that they will have available for purchase.

You can actually find out more about the event on the Coppell website, but it's not as simple as me embedding a hyperlink because you actually have to go through the website's front page to navigate there. Here's my best go at a directional description:

1. Go here.

2. Click on "Departments and Services," left side of page.

3. Click on "Parks and Recreation" from the menu that appears following your completion of Step 2.

4. Click on "Special Events and Activities" from the resulting menu drilldown

5. Click on "Oaktoberfest."

There, that wasn't quite as bad as having a rotten molar pulled, now was it?
