Email Print Tell us your story Comment

The Women in Film Dallas organization is sponsoring an end-of-Summer celebration at the facilities of Motus Digital on Tues., Sept. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. Motus Digital is at 2805 E. Plano Parkway in Suite 250.

Meredith Stephens is Prez of Women in Film Dallas. And apparently quite happy about it.

This hootenanny is open to all comers, with a $10 entry fee getting you hors d'oeuvres and beverages along with a chance to get a feel for what the WIF.D organization is all about. (HINT: it's about women making films in Dallas.)

There's no obligation to join, but if you decide to do so, you'll receive a WIF.D notebook, an official membership card (WHOOPIE!) and all the privileges thereunto appertaining.

Whether you join the ranks of WIFers or not, you'll get in on all the evening's fun and festivities, which - aside from schmoozing with other local women in film - includes a showcase of all the cool things WIF.D has done in the past (via - guess what? - a movie reel), and details about things that are yet to come.

You'll also be entered in drawings for a chance to win a number of sponsor-donated prizes, including:

* passes to the Lone Star Film Festival

* Rangers tics

* a Best Buy gift card

* wine (!)

* tickets to upcoming WIF.D events, including the Chick Flicks festival and the "We've Got That in Development" event

* AFI Dallas passes

* a gift certificate from Chili's

In addition, a TapeOnline gift certificate will be raffled off - certain to prove useful if you're involved in any way in the filmmaking trade.

One thing's almost certain: this will NOT end up being a sausage fest.
