Richardson Community Band begins seventh season of concerts at the Eisemann Center

The Richardson Community Band announces its seventh season of concerts at the Charles W. Eisemann Center in Richardson. George W. Jones, director of the band, announced the schedule of concerts for the 2008-2009 season at the Eisemann Center, located at 2351 Performance Drive at Lookout and Glenville Roads in Richardson. The band will perform all of its concerts in the Hill Performance Hall. “We have been delighted with the Eisemann concert halls and look forward to another great year,” notes Mr. Jones. “Every citizen of Richardson can be proud of this outstanding performance facility.”
The four concert series will include a wide variety of musical themes including a special concert commemorating the Bicentennial Celebration of the birth of Abraham Lincoln, a concert planned with the family in mind and a special Mother’s Day concert. “The Richardson Community Band has developed a reputation of performing a variety of music for everyone’s taste,” notes band President Raymond Brinks. “This season will be no exception.”
Tickets for the concert series can be purchased at the Eisemann Ticket Office, online or by telephone (972-744-4650). Individual concert tickets are $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for children (K-12) & senior citizens. Season ticket packages and family passes are also available.

Hill Performance Hall
Today’s concert will feature a variety of music from the concert band repertorie. Highlights will include “In Storm and Sunshine”, “Selections from South Pacific” and the “Irish Suite” which was written for the Boston Pops Orchestra by Leroy Anderson. Something for every taste.
A Lincoln Tribute (Commemorating the Lincoln Bicentennial)

Hill Performance Hall
The Richardson Community Band joins the country in the celebration fo the 200th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln. The program will include several of Lincoln’s great speeches set to music as well as music from the Civil War era.
Annual Family Concert
Featuring Jason Wallace, Tuba Soloist

Each year, the Richardson Community Band is pleased to present a concert geared toward the family. The music is selected to offer something for every musical taste from the grandparents to the young kids. Today’s concert will feature tuba soloist Jason Wallace performing “Tubby the Tuba” and “The Carnival of Venice.” Bring the entire family for a fun and affordable afternoon at the Eisemann Center.
Mother’s Day Concert
Featuring Tom Fletcher, Euphonium Soloist

What better way to pay tribute to Mom on her special day than to bring her to the Eisemann Center for a concert designed just for her? The Richardson Community Band presents a “Pops” style concert that includes music from the great masters, movie and Broadway music and many other light favorites. Tom Fletcher will be the featured euphonium soloist.
The Band will also perform two free concerts at the Richardson Senior Center located at 820 West Arapaho Road, Richardson.
