Tarrant County Public Health begins offering flu shots at its public health centers on Oct. 1.

“Everyone should get a flu shot because it is the best defense against the flu,” said Lou Brewer, Director of Tarrant County Public Health. “Additional recommendations this year advise that every child 6 months to 18 years get a flu shot unless they have a serious egg allergy.”

“Public health is one of several organizations that offer flu shots, and we want to make it convenient for people to come to our public health centers or take advantage of one of our community events,” stated Brewer. “The most important thing is that people get a flu shot.”

Tarrant County Public Health has scheduled the following community events:

  • Thursday, Oct. 2 – White Settlement Recreation Center
  • Friday, Oct. 3 – Flu & Senior Texercise, Resource Connection
  • Tuesday, Oct. 7 – Keller High School
  • Thursday, Oct. 9 – Mayfield Road Baptist Church, 1701 East Mayfield Road, Arlington
  • Tuesday, Oct. 14 – Christ Church Assembly of God, 5301 Altamesa Blvd., Fort Worth
