The philosophy of the North Lake College Dance Program is to provide the highest standard of dance education within a broad-based liberal arts curriculum. The vision is to promote academic excellence and artistic development in dance education in its broadest sense by redefining the role of dance as it functions in diverse communities. The educational mission is to achieve excellence in scholarship, service and artistic endeavors.

Each fall semester students are given the opportunity to perform in the annual faculty choreographed dance concert, held in the Performance Hall on North Lake's campus. In the Spring, students are given the opportunity to choreograph, co-produce, and costume their own pieces, which are then shown on the NLC lawn.
