Though I've never been there, I have also heard good things about Hannah's. One response to powerpedaler, though: local doesn't always mean "greener". (But it does usually mean healthier and tastier!)

"Mike Orren's comment that Prof James's comment sounds like someone affiliated with the restaurant is total garbage"
I did not say that it sounded like someone affiliated with the restaurant. I said:
"We have reason to suspect that ProfJames comment may have come from someone affiliated with the restaurant or one of its employees."
That reason had nothing to do with the content of the comment and everything to do with registration data we can see on our end.
I'm glad you enjoyed Hannah's. I hear it is indeed wonderful. But that doesn't make ProfJames any less in need of this lesson: http://www.pegasusnews.com/blogs/pega...
Note: We should have taken the original review down as I intended to based on the fact that ProfJames, despite our attempts at outreach, did not respond. But since it has been up this long, it stays...

The first time I walked into this place I thought "this is in Denton, Texas? It looks like it should be in a trendy section of Dallas or New York!" The food never disappoints. Mike Orren's comment that Prof James's comment sounds like someone affiliated with the restaurant is total garbage--the place is that good and yes, there are "foodies" in Denton TX who would know how to write a review like this and eat at a restaurant like this.
The chef has recently done some "100 mile" dinners, in which all the ingredients are from within 100 miles of the restaurant, to keep the "green" profile high. Not only were these excellent presentations of outstanding food, but they were a great example of a business with a true environmental ethos.
That aside, the food there is always excellent, the service is wonderful, and they will make accommodations for people with special diets.
This is truly a fine dining experience in a non-snobby atmosphere, and well worth the drive from Dallas or Fort Worth.

I have had many a meal at Hannah's and have had some wondeful dishes here. There have only been a few misses but because I know the staff so well I have been able to critique straight up and have it accepted with good humor.
Great staff, good food and a soild wine selection. Try the Key Lime Pie martini. Don't be afraid to try the specials.

While we're always excited to see someone in the community post a comment or review on a restaurant page, unlike most other local sites, we're watching pretty carefully.
One thing we don't allow is folks posting comments pretending they are somebody else and raving about their own product/service/restaurant. We can't catch every one, but we do watch for this.
We have reason to suspect that ProfJames comment may have come from someone affiliated with the restaurant or one of its employees. We encourage ProfJames to contact us and correct us on this point. If he does, we'll happily correct this post. If he does not do so within a week, this comment/review will be removed from the site.

Amazing experience. My wife and I started dinner with two cups of the "Soup du Jour" which was a delicious brothy chicken soup with wild rice. I am not one to usually enjoy soup, but this soup changed my outlook on all soups.
We then moved onto an appetizer of a Spicy Tuna Tempura Roll that was of Nobu quality and presentation.
For dinner I had the Surf and Turf special that was seafood lo mein with a marinated steak on top. This dish was amazing. Everything about it made me feel like this dish was individually created for me.
After dinner one of the chefs, Nick, came by the table and asked how everything was. We expressed to him how much we enjoyed everything, and tried our best to pry some recipes out of him. We complemented his creativity and clear, natural talent for cooking.
I suggest everyone try Hannah's off the Square for a classy and unique dining experience. Make sure Nick is there for an ensured good time!
